The Head of the Omutima Clan, Omutaka Namugera Kakeeto Kasekende Nicholas, visited the Kingdom headquarters at Bulange, leading his clan members to officially introduce the newly constituted leadership council to the Katikkiro of Buganda, Hon. Charles Peter Mayiga, who was also selected as the clan’s Chief Advisor.

The meeting took place in the Cabinet Chamber at Bulange, Mmengo.

On 18 September 2025, the Kabaka sent a message to the Heads of Clans, urging each clan to elect its Katikkiro and governing councils, and to present these leaders formally at the Kingdom headquarters.

The Omutima Clan was the first to respond to the Kabaka’s directive. Omutaka Namugera Kakeeto, aged 47, said the purpose of their visit was to demonstrate loyalty to the Ssaabataka and to support efforts to strengthen leadership structures across the clans.

He encouraged clan members to elect a council capable of developing strategic plans to grow the clan and reclaim clan property, including land currently occupied by encroachers.

Katikkiro Mayiga thanked his clan elder for the responsibility entrusted to him and urged the newly elected council members to uphold the four core principles — integrity, innovation, hard work, and service with love — to guide them in fulfilling their duties.

In the new council, Frederick Mujjuzi Kiteke was elected Katikkiro of the Clan, deputised by Ssaalongo Andrew Kaggwa.

Hon. Charles Peter Mayiga serves as the Chief Advisor, supported by Omuk. Salim Makeera, Owek. Damus Mulagwe, and Johnmary Luberenga, the former Clan Katikkiro.

The council also includes other leaders such as the Treasurer, Secretary, and representatives of the Omutaka in various counties.
