The Katikkiro presents gifts to the minister from Buganda
The Katikkiro met with Sheikh Majid Faisal Al Qasimi, the Minister of Economy and Finance of Sharjah, UAE.
Sharjah is a key emirate in the UAE, contributing 12% of the country’s revenue and serving as a hub for trade in the Arabian Peninsula.
The meeting aimed to establish partnerships and exchange knowledge, as Sharjah is innovative and has strengthened its country over just 40 years.
Highlights shared about Uganda include the construction of a stadium in Kidepo, coffee and agricultural initiatives, the establishment of an arts college in Busoga, among others.
The Katikkiro emphasized that these lessons could benefit the people of Buganda and Uganda if applied collaboratively.

Also present were the Ugandan Ambassador to the UAE, H.E. Zaake Wannume Kibedi, Oweek Joseph Kawuki, Oweek Hajji Amisi Kakomo, Oweek Hajj Mutaasa Kafeero, Mr. John Fred Kiyimba Freeman, Oweek Sheikh Abbas Nsubuga, and his assistant Umar Bakasambe.
