The leadership of the Buganda Kingdom has met with Uganda’s Attorney General, Hon. Kiryowa Kiwanuka, to discuss matters relating to historical claims and long-standing debts allegedly owed to the Kingdom by the Central Government, as well as to strengthen mutual cooperation and respect between the two institutions.
During the meeting held in Kampala, Buganda Kingdom officials raised concerns regarding land ownership, royal properties, and the need to foster a respectful and productive relationship with government agencies for the good of all.

The Kingdom expressed optimism that the discussions would yield practical outcomes and reiterated its commitment to continued engagement on unresolved matters.
“There are still key issues that require thorough deliberation. Both parties have shown commitment and hope that respectful and development-focused cooperation will lead to tangible progress,” a statement from the Kingdom said.
