Airtel Uganda, through its partnership with the Kingdom of Buganda via K2 Telecom, has resumed training young people to promote and distribute the company’s services. The most recent session took place at Bulange, Mengo.

This initiative targets 100 youth from various schools and institutions, aiming to encourage them to engage with Airtel’s services while creating job opportunities that offer them a source of income.

In its 2025/2026 budget, the Kingdom of Buganda highlighted youth empowerment as a top priority. This program is one of several initiatives announced by the Kingdom’s Treasurer, Hon. Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa, focused on creating employment opportunities for young people in Buganda.

The Minister for Youth, Sports, and Talent, Hon. Robert Serwanga, officially launched the training and encouraged the youth to seize every opportunity that comes their way. He emphasized that personal growth begins by making the most of available opportunities and building gradually toward success.

He urged the trainees to be honest, committed, and dependable in fulfilling their responsibilities, noting that these qualities would help them advance professionally. He also advised them to behave well in their communities and treat their clients with respect in order to expand their business networks.

Hon. Hassan Kiyemba, Buganda’s Youth Coordinator, noted that the initiative has gained momentum, with institutions of higher learning preparing to enroll new students. He explained that the program provides an opportunity for new individuals to join Airtel and learn about its wide range of newly introduced services.

Joseph Musoke, a representative from Airtel Uganda, said many young people struggle to find jobs after completing their studies. This initiative, he noted, aims to help them access productive work while contributing to Airtel’s growth.

He added that the program will continue annually to benefit fresh graduates and new entrants into the workforce, helping to nurture hardworking and innovative youth who can thrive even after school.

The trained participants will also receive special materials and tools to support them in fulfilling their duties effectively.
