The CEO of the National Media Group, Susan Nsibirwa, visited the palace and met with the Katikkiro to discuss ways to strengthen relations with the kingdom on media issues.
She was accompanied by their Board Chairman, Samule Ssejjaaka, and various departmental officers.
In a speech to them, the Katikkiro highlighted the importance of news, which he said plays a vital role in the country's development. He emphasised the significance of programs such as coffee planting and the necessity of informing the public about the progress of government institutions, including the judiciary, parliament, and the executive.
He also urged them to prioritise the kingdom, emphasising that they would gain more favour by doing so. He pointed out that the business monitors they receive are mostly from Buganda, and the majority of news readers are also located here in Buganda.

He urged them to enhance transparency in their services, emphasising the importance of impartiality and providing everyone with the opportunity to convey their message.
The Minister of Information and Communications and the Spokesperson of the Kingdom, Oweek Israel Kazibwe Kitooke, urged them to further prioritise Buganda Kingdom news, pointing out that the majority of news readers are from here in Buganda.
The CEO of Nation Media Group, Susan Nsibirwa, stated that their purpose in visiting the palace was to introduce themselves and establish strong relationships. This, she explained, would facilitate smoother collaboration and enhance their services.
