
Katikkiro Opens Modern Building at Budo Named Ssekabaka Daudi Chwa II
Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has officially opened a new classroom building at King’s College Budo, aimed at improving the quality of education and strengthening the use of technology among students.
The building, named “Ssekabaka Daudi Chwa II,” has been constructed to modern standards and is equipped with technological facilities that will make teaching and research easier and more effective.
Leaders Attend the Ceremony
The historic ceremony was attended by various leaders from the Buganda Kingdom and the Church of Uganda, including:
- Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa — Second Deputy Katikkiro and Minister of Finance
- Patrick Luwaga Mugumbule — Speaker of the Buganda Lukiiko
- Choltilda Nakate Kikomeko — Minister of Education in Buganda
- Ssebwana Charles Kiberu Kisiriza and other Kingdom officials
Appreciation of the Outgoing Headteacher
During the event, the school also thanked Canon John Fred Kazibwe, who has been serving as headteacher, for his dedicated service and for raising the academic standards of Budo during his leadership.

Prayers and Leaders’ Messages
The opening prayer was led by Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, who commended the cooperation between the Kingdom and the Church in promoting education.
In his remarks, the Katikkiro encouraged students and teachers to make proper use of the modern facilities in order to produce responsible individuals who will contribute to the future of Buganda and the nation as a whole.
